Mantra is a renowned Nepali rock band from Darjeeling, formed in 2000. The original lineup featured Bhaskar Dewan as the vocalist, Praggya Lama on guitar, Pravash Subba on bass, Manish Thapa on keyboards, Bidhan Thapa on flute and saxophone, and Bishal Rai on drums. In 2005, Bishal Rai was replaced by Brizu Choudhury.

We are thrilled to announce that Mantra, the renowned Nepali rock band, will be performing at the 2nd Edition of the Melo Tea Fest 2024 at Chowrastha, Darjeeling.


Mantra originated in Darjeeling in the early 2000s. They are one of the well-known musical bands in Nepal. Some of their songs include Sadhai Sadhai, Himali Nepali, and Sanskriti, all of which were released in the early 2000s.


As part of the Melo Tea Fest, Mantra’s performance will be a celebration of Nepali Rock music culture, set against the backdrop of Darjeeling’s iconic Chowrastha. It promises to be an unforgettable evening of music, culture, and unity—an event not to be missed!
